Improving literacy at KS3 and 4 – new EEF guidance workshop

16:00–18:00 on 21 January 2019

Language and literacy provide us with the building blocks not just for academic success, but for fulfilling careers and rewarding lives. Consequently, the EEF has focused considerable effort in this area and have distilled the research about how to support literacy most effectively in secondary schools. Sandringham Research School is offering a workshop which will explore the newly published EEF guidance on literacy at Key Stage 3 and 4.

We are pleased to welcome Alex Quigley to speak a this event, a national expert on literacy.  Formerly an English teacher, Deputy Headteacher and Director of Huntington Research School, Alex now works for the Education Endowment Foundation supporting evidence use in education.  At the event, Alex and the Sandringham Research School team will:

  • Explore the evidence on secondary literacy
  • Explore the recommendations from the EEF
  • Provide delegates with practical strategies to use confidently with students
